I am looking into buying a vinyl cutter for my t shirt business. I would like to use it to do numbers and names on the backs of jerseys. I have seen cutter from companies like Roland that go up to $3,000 for a 31" cutter. So why is are some cutters only $399.00. I would like someone to take a look at this cutter and tell me if it will do the job. Cutting vinyl like thermofilm. I would think if you are buying a cutter for a t shirt business you would really need an optic eye so you could contour cut inkjet transfers. You would not need the optic eye if you just plan on cutting t shirt vinyl, but why would you want to limit yourself? I have had and or used GCC, Graphtec, and Summa plotters. They all work OK, but Summa is by far the best, but they also cost more.

I have not used this cutter so I cannot comment on it. I can however say that the GCC brand of cutters are very good, and they offer inexpensive units.

I agree on the optic eye, but isn't ~2500$ just a bit expensive for such a feature?
I'm working on getting my opaque transfers cut right without an optic eye.
