I have a Brother BAS 415, I load up a small design 4x4 and it gives me an error code of "short of area" I tried loading up a large 9x5 font design and it loads up no problem. I have tried switching from flat to cap and cap to flat with no luck. Has anybody had this problem? Would like to resolve it as I am totally frustrated and would really like to start using it.

Sounds like you have a stray small piece of art somewhere in the design way outside the parameters of the design. Zoom out the design and see if something is there. Also, the embroidery machine needs to be off when switching between hats and flats.
