How well does a 541 hold it's value?

Would $11,000 be a fair price for a 2008 model, heat press and software?

You can buy new for 15K, 0% financing for 60 months (I think it is 60 months) with a warranty. If you can live without white ink, I would go new, unless you know and trust the reseller.

I thought the GT541 was around 20k new plus freight/setup? I could be wrong?

Give them a call. One of their reps is offering me a new one for 15K and free financing with no trade in. I bought another brand because I need white ink, but if you do not need white ink and want a Brother machine, 15K for a NEW machine seems like a good deal. I would not buy a used machine.....but that's just me. Having said all that, I bought a Veloci-Jet and have been doing profitable jobs since the day it arrived.

It is my understanding that the Brother lease is only 2 years - not 5 years. But that they are not requiring a deposit and there is no balloon payment at the end. Not sure if what I was told is correct or not. Should call Brother directly to get the terms if you are interested.

11k is so so, seen them way cheaper than that in past 4-8k on average

According to the sales rep, they are now offering the 541 for 15K, 0% financing WITHOUT a trade in. I'm not sure how long this offer is for.....The old deal was with a trade in.

Without the extras I'd say I'm paying lees than 8k, it's 2 years old with around 1,500 shirts run through it.

BTW, I have been in the market and watching prices for quite a while and have never seen a 541 much less a 2 year old one go for 4 to 8k for the machine alone. Please tell me what sites / forums I should be looking at... and if anyone has one for 4-7k they want to sell please shoot me a PM.

By the time you're done, it's $17.5-$18k

Watch out "who" you buy from, there are certain Dealers that walk away from supporting you after the sale.

I have 3 Brother gt541 they are 20,000 not 15,000 it is a 2 year lease deal no intrest around 700.00 per mth with stand & heat press free! 11,000 is a good price if it doesnt have a lot of prints on it! 1 of mine has almost 100,000 prints I just had to replace 3 heads this year. so if it is low on prints less than 10,000 prints or round about, I think its a good deal!

You can get a factory refurb from brother for 12k. That just pushed the resale value of used printers below 8k. Good luck on selling one for over 10k

Look at the date of my post, it was over 1 year ago.

Prices and promotions change.
Brother eliminated the "List Price" and they no longer "sell" for $20k.

If you are in the market to buy, call your Distributor to see what the latest "special" is on new machines.

Sometimes 'refurbs' are available from Brother with full factory warranty.
