So I live in Fresno, which is where the west coast distribution center is for Broder Bros. They've been pushing their new FlexExpress service in email and big banners on their website offering to waive the 6.99 fee as an introductory offer. Basically they'll ship your order to a nearby FedEx retail store such as Kinko's for you to pick up at more convenient hours. Sounds great since the DC is a good 25 minute drive from my house and the closest retail store is more like 5 minutes away. I placed my order yesterday morning needing this order by today at the latest. As it's shipped from the same city, I assumed that it would arrive today. I tracked the package today and it says it's supposed to be delivered tomorrow so I called to see why. They said it's considered "rerouted" to the FedEx retail store so it takes an extra day. If I would have known that, I would have either paid for shipping directly to me or driven down to pick it up today. I scoured their website and ads to find any kind of a tiny disclaimer so that I could smack myself in the forehead for being too hasty and not reading the fine print but there is nothing there except fabulous claims of how convenient this service is.

Anyway, I'm frustrated because now I can't make these shirts tonight to deliver as promised in the morning because I'll have to wait until the package has been delivered to the retail store for me to pick up.

I just wanted to give you guys a heads up in case you're needing your stuff next day. It still sounds like a great program especially with the late hours that the retail shops are open and I will probably use it in the future when I don't need my stuff the next day.

Hello Stephanie,

We came across your message and wanted to reach out with an apology. We want Flex to be a reliable shipping option for our customers; however it looks like you were let down in this situation. After reading your post here we have added a disclaimer in our fine print that lets customers know that there is no guarantee for next day shipping.

Again, we apologize and hope that when you utilize Flex again in the future it exceeds your expectations. Feel free to contact us any time with further concerns or questions by visiting our website: broderbros.com.

Sincerely,
The Marketing team at Broder

Sorry to hear that happened DB but since I have been using Flex Express my orders have always arrived the next day. Always. I am not particularly happy that they arrive at my FedEx pickup location around 3pm but they have always been delivered the next day. If I had to wait two days for them to arrive I would just go pick them up as well. My second shop is also about a 25 minute drive from my distribution center during off peak traffic hours, but if I get caught up in rush hour traffic that 25 minutes turns into 2.5 hours. This is why I have been opting for the Flex Express delivery lately. Don't know why they would say it takes an extra day but I have never experienced that.

I tried the service once and found it to be prompt. My closest Broder distribution center is a 1-day ground ship. Got my order in by the cutoff time for my distribution center and it went out that day and was delivered to my local FedEx Office (formerly Kinko's) the next day (think it got there around noon). I expect to be using the service regularly.

Maybe what you experienced was a FedEx ground mistake. Hope you get it resolved.

Yeah, I called FedEx because it showed it as having been received at FedEx facility like 3 times. She said that because it was rerouted, it takes an extra day. Maybe she was just covering her butt.

I'm glad to know I'm the exception and that others are happy with this service. I guess I'll give it one more shot.
