It is a bit weird being charged for something that manufacturers give to distributors for free, to give to customers for free. Although it's cool being able to get everything at once, would be useful for those starting out who don't have business identification yet, and $20 is ultimately not much of a business expense.

Although it doesn't include AA, which is a shame (their fabric style samples would be particularly useful to people who are new to this stuff).

I'm still not sure if the whole thing sits right with me.

It's only the mfg's. that B&R sells and I think that B&R is putting it together and printing it. I have been trying to get Gilden samples for a long time and no one has them. It"s a good tool but not to be used as a handout to potential customers.

Alpha shirt company sends us Gildan swatch cards twice a year. We have a conglomeration of them from over the years. The swatch guides I have a problem getting are the American Apparel or Alternative Apparel and Anvil. Not that I use either a whole lot, and can call one of my suppliers and get them to ship me an actual shirt sample if a customer is interested. I've actually had Alpha ship me a box of each one of their new shirts they came out with this year. District Threads, Gildan, Hanes, Anvil all have come out with a soft touch American Apparel type tee. They actually sent me one of each for guys, and one of each for girls. I keep small plastic drawers for the actual shirts. That way I can at least show them the shirt, and let them feel it. We are set up with Bodek and Rhodes but don't order from them a lot. How are their ship times?

The Pantone swatch book shows the colors in the Pantone Matching (color) System. The Pantone color system is a basic system for identifying colors where a number is assigned to a particular color. It is often used to reference spot colors for screen printing or illustrate the colors in a logo design. Examples of other systems are CMYK and RGB. Manufacturer's such as Gildan and Hanes provide swatch books containing pieces of fabric to identify the fabric colors they provide. These colors can be particular to the manufacturer and style number and don't necessarily match a color by the same name provided by another manufacturer. Because different materials absorb and reflect light differently color is best judged when looking at the color on the same material under the same type of light. For example, fabric color is best seen when looking at another fabric reference piece so swatches are helpful for showing customers what a particular color looks like.

I used to get mine at the Bodek & Rhodes warehouse but they ran out of them and told me they couldn't get any more of the Gildan. I have the Anvil and some others but not the Gildan which is my most popular shirt. For 20 bucks I may purchase one just to show customers. To expensive for give-aways.

The thing thats really dis-appointing about this sample book is no ULTRA CLUB samples....I mean come on...It's B&R's own BRAND....yet they don't include sample swatches????.....

BTW.... B&R is one of our best and top suppliers....they really put the customer first.
