blue printing as black?

2387 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  G.Barker
I tried from pdf and photoshop, image on screen is perfect. I did 3 sets of sweatpants for my kids school. Yellow and Blue. Yellow printed yellow and blue keeps coming out black. I don't know why and have never had a misprint before. Tried changing vibrancy and instead of listing garment as white like it was on default I changed to grey as garment was grey but can not get blue to print blue , prints black.

Any tricks? Am I missing something, should I not build file as cmyk, we created file in cmyk. Thanks for any advice.

scroll over the color in photoshop make sure that its truly blue.

CMYK is perfect for blues but you need to make sure that there isn't more black than blue in the formula.

If you want to attach the file I look at it...

Are you able to print blue at all?? have tried on something else? Not sure if with Brothers do you do a nozzle check? I am DTG Brand but your problem sounds common.
yes, i can print really nice blues, new cartidge recently installed. I will do a nozzle check and will try and shoot you the file as well, thanks for that, my artist is on vacation this week and I have a fill in guy, will have him check as well, I also need to run a color palate sample for a broker so i will do the color chart on a white shirt and verify my blues are still nice and blue. Thanks Again

I want to thank FatKatz, this job came in and was due today and the file did it again, FatKatz gave me a test idea and all my blues came out perfect. Turns out the file we built in Illustrator was not printing right, we rebuilt file in Photoshop and bam, colors were spot on, 70 tees out the door and perfect color. Thanks again and if anyone has similar problem try what we did , build file in different program. Who knew. Every other illustrator file we opened and ripped in photoshop has been perfect except this 1 file and again it worked perfect when we rebuilt in Photoshop and ripped from photoshop and we were able to get the job done.

thanks Again fatKatz, saved my bacon today

There is a new Brother color palette available for Illustrator. Would you like me to email it to you?
