Blank Tees for infants/toddlers - sorry for the long post

OK I have done a ton of reasearch here and on the net and I am torn about what to do. I have been in business about a year and a half. I started out buying PFD blanks from Dharma Trading and dyeing them myself with Procion MX dyes. Then I discovered Rabbit Skins on shirtsupplier.com and jiffyshirts.com this spring, so I bought my entire summer stock pre-dyed from them. The colors I use are white, pink, light blue, lime green, yellow and pale lavender. I was so excited to not have to dye shirts anymore!

Well, within a month or so I discovered that they run about a size small and the fabric isn't very soft. My customers complained. I ended up relabeling them all myself bc of the size discrepancy. I found that their scalloped edge tees run even smaller than the plain tees! AARGH.

So now it's long sleeve season again and I have very limited stock left from last year and I am getting more & more requests for long sleeve tees. I need to find a supplier and fast. So I have been trying to find one that has a wide range of colors and fits true to size. I also would like to keep the cost per shirt around $3-5.

I should mention I don't have a tax ID number yet but I am working on it.

The suppliers I have looked at for the colors I'd like, some have all of them in short sleeves but not in long, some don't even have the standard pink & light blue in long sleeves:

Jiffy
shirtsupplier and their various entities
kiddy kats
TSC
AAA
wholesale baby blanks
iBlanks
AA/trendy blanks
cheapestees
gotapparel
blankapparel

I am wondering if I need to go back to dyeing my own to get the colors I want. In that case, maybe someone can recommend suppliers for PFD infant/toddler blanks OTHER than Dharma. The styles of tees I need:

  • Plain short sleeve infant & toddler
  • plain long sleeve infant & toddler
  • Lap shoulder short & long sleeve infant sizes
  • scalloped edge short & long sleeve neck toddler sizes
  • scalloped edge short & long sleeve lap shoulder infant sizes
I only offer the plain tees in ALL the colors I mentioned above. The scalloped tees i only offer in white, pink and lavender. Plain Lap tees I only offer in white, pink, light blue and yellow.

Suggestions? Anyone?

You should really get your tax id number because you would have way more options for better quality blanks. Its fairly easy to get and really worth the choices it opens up for you. Monag and really great blanks as well as bella. kavio also has really nice stuff but with all of those you need a tax id. I think it would be worth it for you to get it so that you can buy better quality. Otherwise you will be very limited on what brands you are able to buy.

Heritage Sportswear carries the Bela brand but they don't have all your colors. I also checked NES and Broder which carry Rabbit Skins and they also don't have all your colors. I'm stumped, sorry.

Thank you for your advice everyone! I looked at Precious Cargo and they are only 4.1 oz. I'm afraid people would think they are poor quality KWIM?

I decided my best option is to dye my own. I found a small company on the east coast that sews shirts to order and will sew my label into the neck - all for about $5 a shirt - plus they make all the styles and sizes I am looking for. I have a couple of their shirts and they are very high quality and they dye up nicely. :D
What was that company? I am after blank hooded sweatshirts in blue, pink & grey marl for babie through to 10 year olds. I can't find anywhere that has all the sizes. At the moment I use rabbit skins, but they have 2 different types of sweatshirts that get posted to me. They both say size 5/6, but are completely different in size, so much so that a size 5/6 is actually smaller than other 4's! I did complain, but they don't seem to think that there's anything wrong with this! Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am trying to find someone to manufacture these for me now!

I ordered a sample pink and blue short sleeve from precious cargo. The feel is decent, but one was almost an inch longer than the other and they were suppose to be the same size. I haven't ordered any more from them since.

I'm on the east coast and I would be interested to know what company you found that will label them up for you.
I am interested in the same items. Can you let us know the supplier you are using. Thanks!
i use the laughing giraffe 1.888.529.3883 very nice to work with and they have a wholesale site too. you look around on their site and call it it. hope this helps you.
