Black isn't sublimating right...help!

I'm printing with a Ricoh GX e3300n using Sawgrass inks and using a mug press. I've been sublimating mugs and having good results most the time. I'm working on an order for a lady that wants mugs made in the USA. Found them at Conde but am having a terrible time getting black to sublimate on them. I normally use Coastal mugs and have found when doing photos on the 15 ounce ones I have to use a silicon pad to even out the heat, then they press very well. But the pad isn't helping these USA mugs. they're a little thicker than the Coastal mugs so I've tried various times with a 400 temp. Started at 6 minutes per Conde's on line instructions and have gone as high as 9 minutes but the black refuses to darken and give me good clear results. I'm going to loose the mug order if I can't get the black text to press correctly. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm totally frustated and have no idea where to go from here. Help!!!

Is your black more like a brown and looking a bit blurry? If so then we've found that when printing with Ricoh SubliJetR inks you can't over cook the mug. From what your reporting you would think that you need to press for longer to get the black, but it's the other way round. The brown blurry blacks are caused by too much heat for too long. Take the press time back to 3.5 minutes at the recommend temp.

Yes, this is what I have found too. And the brown is also uneven when overcooked.

Thanks, I'm going to try the shorter time tonight. I appreciate the input!
Hi,
I changed my time setting and got beautiful results. I was adjusting my time in the wrong direction which was making the problem worse....wasted a lot of mugs. I was following the pressing guidelines on the Conde site but should have been following the guildlines for the ink itself...live and learn. Thank you very much for your imput, it did the trick!
Been there and done that. :D I was going 5 minutes with Thailand mugs and had to back down to 4 minutes for the USA mugs. David at Conde solved that one for me.

So for how long did you press them?
What temp?
I pressed them for three and a half minutes at 400. Got great results.
