Hello
I have d/l some vector files. Some will have a
ai, eps and cdr file in the file.
I have corel and illustrator.
I am not really good with either but maybe a hair more fimilar with corel.
For whatever reason when I open in corel the image seems smaller and duller.
With Illustrator bigger and brighter. Not sure if its the setups or programs or the files. The Illustrator window seems brighter.

Anyway I am trying to clean up my files and was wondering if any of the 3 twere better to work with than the others ?

THanks
Mark

Probably has to do with color profile settings of the workspace. Illustrator has in my opinion more complex effects that can be applied to Vector art, but I prefer Corel for its ease of use. EPS is in my opinoin the best of the formats to export to as far as compatibility between applications go.

Thanks.

Been downloading some vector freebie packs and in them there's the ai/eps/cdr and occassionally the pdf file formats.

I have AI CS3 and Corel X3. I need to really stay with one and learn it so I think I am going to stay with X3. Mostly cuz its the less $ to upgrade and I have several videos on it. I like AI but swithching between the two I get confuse on some things and forget how to do stuff I just learned on one.
Anyways..

So the main question is when I d/l these tihngs and want to clean up disk space am I better off with the CDR files or EPS ones ?

When I pull either CDR/EPS format into X3 I don't see any differences in them on the same image.
Seem to look the same and can edit them the same.

My next question. If a image is saved in Corel X4 as a CDR I know I can not open it if saved as a CDR. However if X4 saves it as a EPS will X3 open it ?

Thanks
Mark
