Does anyone have any cool ideas as to added a sponsor list on the back of some shirts. I have to put 18 on the back of some shirts and was wondering if there how most people do that? Thanx in advance
If you haven't, ask if there are sponsors more significant that others as far as placement or sizing.
Allow time to have someone sign off on the layout and make sure all the sponsors are included. Get copies as clean as possible and don't hesitate to insist on what you need. If you have to clean up or redraw feel free to charge if inclined. Typically you'll get everything from high res camera ready to 72 dpi color scans from napkins. Do't hesitate to greyscale and halftone color logos if doing single color imprint.

As far as layout, I just try to make it visible and pleasing and as interesting. Diamond shape, circular,
reverse curve etc.

for 18 sponsors you will want to do monochrome or one color only. Black is usually used. The sponsors should be able to provide you with artwork in that format.

well, if its for a run, you can put the sponsors in a vague shape of a runner, with an outline of the runner (basically make a shape with the sponsors in a shape according with the event)

Or make a list like a "schedule w/wins" sport shirt ((Sponsor....Phone number))

Those are just 2 quick ideas that poped to mind

Possibly do the fallowing

Sponsor Phone Number
A C
B D
C A
D G
E H
F SO ON AND SO FORTH
G
H
I
J
K
L
M
N R
O Q
P M
Q L
R P

Then have different lines going to each (dots, lines, x's) thinks like that, may be a bit jumbled though

The layout of the sponsors on a shirt can be done a hundred different ways. It depends on how many sponsors will be on the shirt. Typically, what I have experienced is the sponsors will be listed in just one color on the back of the shirt. If it is just one or two sponsors, of course they will get more room and be larger. Logos are always nice if available. (Getting people to send you a "usable" logo is a enitirely different thread!) :)

If there are around 5-8 sponsors, I will typically stack them one on top of the other down the shirt (possibly in order of importance or donation amount). If you have 10+ sponsors you will probably need to create 2 columns. If you want to be more creative you could take the sponsor names or logos and just scatter and stagger them randomly on the back of the shirt....or you could run them listed in a spiral on the back of the shirt. As far as layout is concerned, really the possibilities are endless.

When the shirt has sponsors, I will usually try to be one of those sponsors (sometimes I can get this done by donating the screens on the project or by offering some other type of discount. At other times the customer will just tell me to be sure to include my logo, since I'm printing the shirts.) I like to put my logo at the bottom of the list. I leave the top for someone else and I don't want to get lost in the middle and not be seen...so I've found the logo on the bottom stands out just as much as the logo on the top... the logos in the middle of the mix can get lost.

At 18, what's the point? Folks won't be able to read it anyway unless they are right behind the person.

I would try to convince the organizer to reduce the number of sponsor's. It cheapens the the shirt and guarantees most will not wear it again after the initial event. We do a lot of sponsorship and insist we are the only sponsor's name listed on tees.

I woudn't worry if they need to be near the shirt to read it, it still gives them credit. Many times it depends what the shirt will be used for, if in bleachers... you'll be able to see them. We're doing one with 16 sponsors (name & maybe #/one color) inside a big "B" hopefully with the B giving each about a 2" x 2" area for their name. These will be worn at local events and the B stands for the sports programs so they will read it! Sponsors are basically giving them to school kids and their business name isn't as important this time, everyone here knows these business places so it's just a nice little kicker for them. Good Luck
