hi,
I'm interesting in sublimation printer on hard covers. I want to buy printer and because the ink consumption is the main expence as I know (and almost all for now in sub printers at all :)), what kind of printer would suits my needs best? Of course, it not means lowes quality of printing... Budget for printer (without ink) max 300$

Thank you,
Tim

Well sawgrass printers cost more then that...so those are out of your budget. That more or less leaves you with Epson.
You can go with a 7110, 7620, or 7610 and run dyesub ink in them instead of the pigment ink they come with. These printers range from about $120-$299

Then you need sublimation ink and refillable cartridges for your particular printer. You can get both from Cobra ink or another ink supplier. They will also provide you color profiles.

And dont forget the dyesub paper...

Thanks! As I saw in cobra page, the set of carteidges and 4 tubes of ink 4oz cost 224$??? How much aproximately cost ink for sawgrass?
Sawgrass is more like $125-145 per color....and thats not refillable.

While cobra sounds expensive, that is 8-10 refills of those cartridges.

Plus the larger cost of the printer compared to the Epsons.

I see, so why you recomended me sawgrass if I want cheeper ink consumption :)?

And one more question how many approximately (for e.g.) A4 full colored pages I can print with one full pack 4oz x 4 colours?

I didn't recommend it...
I have no idea how many, but it will be a lot.
Maybe a case or so

For a best sublimation printer you need to consider the one with best quality in the lowest possible price.
In my opinion, Sawgrass Virtuoso SG400 is best sublimation Printers.
You can find other printers with better quality but they will be too expensive for you. So, you must consider this printer.

I have 2 Ricoh SG3110DN's which for all purposes are virtually identical to the Sawgrass SG400. I'm in the UK and use refillable cartridges with CIE inks. They cost me only £15 for a 100ml bottle, so that's £60 for a set. I've been printing with these inks for a number of years now and the quality is as good as, if not better than, the overrated, overpriced Sawgrass offerings. I want to PRINT mugs, not BE a mug!!! :)

Go do the maths ...
