I would like to see if there is a general consensus as to whom is the greatest screenprinter artist around today. Is there even an idea? we know famous painters, composers- but who really changed the face of screenprinting? I want to see something to make me go WOW.(!) I need something to aspire to.

Back in the days, I was a real big fan of Dave Gardner and the boys at Liquid Graphics. Now days, I like Sullen's stuff and all the gangster woodcut graphics by that one dude.

Are you talking about the designer or the actual printer that put the design on the t-shirt?

Wow, I think this is really tough in that 20 years ago the big guys were cutting ruby with an xacto and getting some amazing results.. now we are photoshopping in simulated and doing process on 16 color presses with 4 flashes.. I sold millions of dollars worth of resort apparel with ok designs that looked good on garment dyed shirts.. The target keeps revolving but Liquid Graphics and that Garner guy were hot.. Spider was early and really good.. I used to go to the Impressions show and awe at the award winners. Who knows what next year will bring.. Discharge, Foil, Roland Plotter cutters.. on and on and on.. good look with your website tough job to sort out the great ones.. so many.

I think this is a hard one to really sit down and name people. I mean some artists are great with 4CP and others are illustrators. Some artists are fantastic at creating separations only, which can really make or break your art.

Its just so tough because a great artist can get screwed by a bad printer. A lot of the best stuff out there is a collaboration between artist and printer to get the most out of the artwork.

Without nominating myself.... I'd say for pure illustration and talent, Revboyjames here has some fantastic stuff. I haven't seen too much of his other work, but the guy can draw his butt off and that is what is hot right now with a lot of clients.
