Best Quality Combed Ringspun Cotton T-shirts

Ok...I have spent that last 4 or 5 hours reading this forum, and the knowledge out there is absolutely amazing!!! Wow!!! Ok, I'm a Newbie:rolleyes:, and I am looking for super soft high quality t-shirts that are good for screen printing. After reading this forum, I am assuming I want 100% Combed Ringspun Cotton. I am not certain about the weight...is heavier always better??? Does one hang better than the other?? Also, I don't want a brand where the neck is too wide, or the sleeves are too long. Should it be pre-shrunk cotton? I really want to put out a product that has the look and feel as "high end" or even "trendy". The shirts need to be either "men's" or "unisex". What do you experts suggest? What shirt would be the best fit for what I am looking for???

I saw your topic, and said, O boy, I cannot wait to read some responses to your querry. I'll look back in a couple of days.
Good Luck,
Smith
You would probably need to obtain samples from different vendors to find a shirt with the weight and cut that you want. Every manufacturer uses their own specs.
edit: the list of companies that offer combed ringspun cotton are endless. Some are:
Gildan $
Hanes $
Anvil $
Alstyle $
American Apparel $$$
Alternative Apparel $$$
Bare Apparel $$$$
Pacific Sports $$
Delta $
Cygnus $
Royal $
Article 1 $$
Next Level $$
Pima Apparel $$
Continental Clothing $$$
Bella/Canvas $$$
JS Apparel $$

Most of the $ should be pretty accurate going from memory, although I don't order from some of the vendors often.

For some people, yes. For other people, no :)

If you live in a hot climate, you may prefer a lighter weight t-shirt.

If you live in a colder climate or if your customer has certain preconceptions about t-shirts, they may think heavierweight = quality (while other customers think lighterweight = quality)

I agree with Justin that to find the "best" for you (which may be different than the best for someone else), you're probably going to need to start sampling some blank t-shirts to find out what you don't like and what you do like (and what you think YOUR customers might like)

If I had to pick 3 of the ones that Justin posted, I'd say try American Apparel style 2001, Next Level Apparel, and maybe the Alstyle ringspun t-shirts.

All the t-shirts in the list he posted are very nice blanks (RoyalApparel, Article1, Continental Clothing, Bare Apparel, etc all make great tees)

Great info y'all! I've just ordered some samples from Next Level. Appears to be pretty good quality for the price... we'll see when the samples show.

If there is such a thing an a "unisex" t-shirt, I haven't seen it. I'm very interested to see if anybody has found one in their travels. Sure would make life easier!

Hi! BELLA + CANVAS offers an entire line of Unisex tees that are 100% combed and ring-spun cotton as well as side-seamed with a trendy retail fit! :)
Love Bella + Canvas. Super soft, nice small weave with very few / small fibers. Perfect for high resolution DTG, as from my Epson F2000
This was printed on a "steel" colored Bella + Canvas at my shop last week
