I need to print about 50 jerseys, with numbers. They want a white number with a red stroke.

In your opinion, what is the best option for quality and cost?

1. Vinyl cutting my own numbers. Heat Pressing 2 layers for each color.

2. Ordering Custom numbers from somewhere (suggestions?)

3. Screen printing numbers onto gang sheets and heat pressing them on.

The material is 100% polyester with tricot knit.

I would think using plastisol transfer numbers would be one of your cheapest options... Transfer Express has white with red outline on two different styles. Their website also says that they can be used on Poly (I have only used on cotton). Quick application also... I press mine for 8 seconds.

You may want to make sure that the 100% poly item doesn't have dye migration issues before picking a product for white numbering. The screen printed transfer numbers are easy for 2 color numbers, because they come ready to go and you can press in one step. If the garment has severe dye migration issues then pre-cut numbers in a product like Thermo-FILM would be a good choice, but it takes two steps at the press. press the background for a couple seconds and then align and press the foreground for 8-12 seconds. Definitely will inhibit the dyes though, so a safe choice. Price point should be pretty close, with transfers getting a slight edge because of the 2 color.

If you are doing names as well, then you can cut heat transfer film to match the film numbers, whereas with transfers you can't match it perfectly, so that may be another consideration.
