Beginner help with T-jet

Im a beginner with the T-jet 2. I purchased it from Equipment Zone (you guys are awesome by the way). Im having some issues getting started. Im printing on Gildan 2000, light and dark. As for pretreatment, I know its a science of how much to lay down... but I feel like Im not putting the right amount on. Can someone help me out on how much I should put (as in what thickness it looks like or how wet the shirt looks)?

Another thing is when I do print white, it always comes out VERY light, even on multiple passes. Ive screwed with the height of the ink shelf, and that helped a little, but its still very light. I keep looking at the sample shirt that I got from US Screen and how vivid and solid their white is, and I cant come close to that.

Any help would be much appreicated! Thanks!

I will try to help here :) Ok there is a ton of info on this forum covering pretreatment. One thread that I think might help is this one http://www.t-shirtforums.com/direct-garment-dtg-inkjet-printing/t52278.html, it goes into pretty good detail of pretreatment, so hopefully this will help some.

As far as the white ink layer, it sounds like you need to print at a higher density. There should be a section on either your advanced printer settings when going to print that you can adjust to either medium or a higher dpi. There are also settings in the rip program which you can adjust for a higher dpi on your layers too. The section should be called something like ink and printer configuration in your rip program. Sorry I have a HM1 so use a different rip program, but they all should have the same basic settings. Let me know if this helps. :)
