Ok I've printed some basic white t-shirts with commercially bought transfers.

I haven't gotten into dark colors yet but intend too.

My question is how much do you trim on a commercial transfer for a white or light colored shirt?

For example this transfer :

Or this one:

How much would I trim. There is about 4-5 inches of white between the cross and the edge. But say by the word "choice" the border is only 1/2" or so. Would I trim it down to the word and to the edge of the cross? Would I do that if I wanted to transfer it to say a royal blue shirt? If I want to transfer that to a darker shirt do I just leave the transfer as it is.

You guys and gals have been a great source of information. There is also a feeling of genuine helping, no competition or sabotaging.

I haven't done any dark colors yet but hope too soon.

The got jesus one has a white border around it, should that be trimmed down to the black if applying it to a white shirt? How about a dark shirt like blue, can the white be left on it?

What is the norm I guess.

Thank you so much for all your time and suggestions.
