Bad reviews for dark transfer paper. what other options?

Newbie here. I`ve read many posts on this forum regarding not so great quality inkjet heat transfer paper for dark shirts. What are my other options for putting quality images on dark shirts at a decent price with a heat press ? Most of my designs are 3 and 4 color. Are plastisols the way to go?
Any suggestions you can pass along would be appreciated.

I have a 15x15 heat press

You would have to get a screen printer to print your designs on transfer paper for you if you want to do custom plastisol transfers. Transfer express can do that and a few other places can do it too. There are also places that have designs already printed that you can put on dark fabrics.
I have no issues with dark shirt transfers as long as the design is fairly simple. The number of colors isn't an issue unless you're talking screening. Having to cut intricate shapes with dark paper is quite a pain & should be done with a quality cutter/plotter which isn't a cheap investment. The only issue I have with dark transfers is caring for them. Specifically laundering issues. Others will recommend dye-sub printing or vinyl. I use neither, but the experts in those areas are found here. I'm sure you'll get some help.
You can only do sublimation on white or very light pastel polyester fabric.
Investigate the new OKI White Toner - should be hitting the market in Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. I saw some transfers done with it at the FOREVER Stand at Fespa in Spain this year. I also took some shirts and did wash tests, and they wash really well !

Basically they've got CMY+White Toner, which with a rip, allows for excellent transfers onto dark shirts, with nothing to cut out and none of that crappy plasticised paper that starts tearing as we now all use.

I use an okidata c330dn laser jet for my laser jet dark transfers and a regular office inkjet for the inkjet ones. I've found the single step laser papers from neenah paper are actually pretty durable and easy to apply. I cant remember but i know they have a couple different types(i like image clip laser).I've also used the specialty materials 2175 for darks(its a 2 step process). But have'nt had any issues with either one.
how's the Okidata printer coming along with the white toner? I'm seriously considering investing in this solution. I do not have patience for screen printing and really want this to work

You can eliminate trimming using the ImageClip for Laser Dark by Neenah Paper, it's for non-fuser oil (most newer) printers/copiers.
So you saying that I dont need the white toner printer? I really like the pop on those printers. Watch this video. If not, then would the Go Uno Oki printer be suitable with the imageclip papers? where can I buy Imageclip transfer paper?

If you want to put white lettering on a dark garment you can use the ImageClip for Koncert Ts in the laser printer.

Using their 2 step paper, how does it feel? The one step Laser 1 Ope is terrible. Feels like a plastic bag.
Was wondering how the texture is using the 2 step.

Also, you show your using the Oki C330dn like we are. Has your fuser had a short life? Because ours died yesterday and we haven't printed 4K pages yet.
