Backround Creation for Tshirt Image

How hard would it be to create a simple gradient backround? Would halftones be necessary? I apologize if it is a silly question but not knowing what to search for makes finding answers kind of hard. As you can see I am still really new to printing, I have had success with simple single and double color spot seperations, But I really want to do an image with a yellow & orange backround kinda like a sunset. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would most likely do that with halftones, however you could do a blend screen.
That's where you use one screen and you'd put for example (like your sample) orange on the left side of the screen and yellow on the right.......then you could pull or push your squeegee, keeping it lined up so you get a controlled blend of ink.
