Good question, I have seen sublimation(?) on poly socks
The best looking is to have the logo lomed into the sock, not sure about minimums but these folks (and others in the U.S.A.) still make them to order. SOYAD BROTHERS TEXTILE :: SOYAD SOCKS

We looked for quite some time way back and the only thing we found were diabetic socks. They did not print that great.
