Hello,

This is my first post here and I would like to say thanks for the amount of information I have already found within the forum! I am interested in starting my own printing. I'm going to school for graphic design and over the years produced about 10 tshirts for my local university. Just selling to friends, family, and people around school. I really want to start doing my own thing as I take pride in doing the job from beginning to end.

I'm looking into the 4 color 1 station start kit from Ryonet. I'm going to get the upgraded Exposure unit and add on the Microregistration. From my understanding, if I go the waterbased ink route, I'll need a conveyor dryer? Which is out of my budget. But will I be able to cure my shirts with their flash dryer?

Also, I just wanted to know if it's a good idea to get the microregistration or if I should skip that and get the 4 color 2 station. I don't plan on ever having a second person because I just want to keep this small time and almost like a hobby where I can make money. The only downside to the 4 color 1 station opposed to the 2 station, it'll take longer to finish a t shirt because I wont have a print pallet and flash pallet. So I'll have to wait about 6 seconds for the ink to dry before applying another color.

Either way I want to upgrade the Exposure unit from their 500 watt lights to their 16x20. Any tips, photos, or information that you can give about the kits would be lovely! I'd love to see photos of your products from these presses!

Forget the exposure unit and buy the best press you can afford. 500w halogen will suffice in the short and medium term.

The problem with one station ( and also two station to a lesser extent) is the platen gets too hot, causing ink to set in the screen. This occurs both when flashing and more so when doing a full cure.
If using a flash drier to fully cure then I would recommend removing the flashed shirt from the press and laying it on a separate bench or even an ironing board to cure.

The key purchases for a start-up are a good press, flash drier and good (new) screens. Anything else can come later.

Buy what you think you need, but don't be 'sold' it by a salesperson.
