the ASC 6/6 and the Silver press 6/2

ASC 6/6
6 color 6 station screen printing press machine printer - eBay (item 280545370154 end time Sep-05-10 15:44:37 PDT)

( im just using this for image link, i can prob find a better price. )

and the silver press 6/2
6 Color Two Station Screen Printing "Silver Press"

i know this has been posted before, but maybe i can get some new fresh opinions.

I saw both presses in person, definitely not worth the money at all. The guy selling them barely speaks english, so he didn't understand any of my questions. The screens do not lock down well or securely at all with one screen nearly springing back at me as I was right under neath it. Definitely not worth the money.

I would agree on the ASC stuff from here in Toronto, wasn t impressed the time I went in to look at equipment.

The silver press however is from Ryonet NOT ASC, and I have that setup and have no problems at all, well aside from my own screwups lol

I own a 6/2 silver press from Ryonet It works fine. It is my first press and as I work with it I know some features that I will be looking for in my next one but for an entry level press I have no complaints. Make sure to get the Macro adjustments for it.

On the Ryonet 6:2, do the platen arms swing and rotate like a Riley Hopkins would?

friggin awesome, makes me want one that much more...
Save a little more money and buy a used prof. press. The deals are out there if you look around.

Is that really a better way of going about it?

am i being suckered by Ryonet if i go for the 6:2 press package? which costs like $2,199

Im set up for water based only, with a Yudu...

i like the package in part because it comes with everything needed to start up a plastisol operation. As well an exposure unit and flash dryer, And not to mention the silver press is far more superior than the Yudu...
You can find some nice gear used. The rest of the stuff isn't all that difficult to get a list for... I actually have a post on such supplies on the board somewhere right now. Look under my name for post by me.
other than craigslist (which isnt very bountiful of equipment in my area) where would be some good places to look?
There are classifieds here as well as other sites.
Check out digitsmith.com
As far as entry level presses go the silver press is as pretty good. I checked it out in person and am a fan. Its true that great uses presses are available also though. Ordering the package is a lot easier than piecing it all together, though individual pieces might save a little.

cool, pretty much what i really wanted to hear. I'm still on the up and up and have much to learn.
I WOILD LINKE TO VOTE ASC BRAND, THOUGH IT HAS SOME defections, but it deserves 1200 bucks for enter level start up
i got the asc365 6X6 press, let me tell you i wouldnt recommend it to anyone. save your money for a used brand name. or i seen vastex with an entry level for just under 2G brand new. the chinese press has some fatal flaws in the design compounded by really poor manufacturing techniques. save yourself some major drama and stay far away from this crap. i dont know if i'm madder at them or myself for gettin played.
Sorry to hear that Rudy, as I had said I looked at it and other equipment previously and something just seemd off about it. And at the time no one there spoke english to explain or discuss things
I have a 6X2 and have no complaints. It's hard to butt register colors but with a little patience it can be done. The micro registration attachments would be nice. If I were printing 1000 or more shirts a week I would rather have a more professional press. I didn't know if I would even like screen printing so I didn't want to fork out a bunch of money on a higher end press. So ya absolutely no regrets with this press. Also Rynets support is fantabulous.
Agreed the 6 x 2 ryonet is a much different machine than the ASC thing, much higher quality
