Hey
I am an artist and want to start making shirts. MY art goes under tattoo style more but still has a different arty side to it, so my question is that when i draw them and can put them in the computer and i need a program that i can use my own stuff. and i am not too good with these kind of programs but i am a quick learner and need something that i can make my art look clear and move around the shirt where i want it to be and even change colors on my art. I hope that someone would be happy to help.

Egon,

My suggestion is get a drawing tablet to draw on the computer program. From there you can go to Adobe and tryout Photoshop and Illustrator on the Creative Cloud. Decide wht type of art style you prefer. If you are very hyper-realistic you may want Photoshop. Or if you like a hard line art you may want to go with a vector program like Illustrator. I’m attaching a few images. All use the drawing tablet. The football player was drawn and created by Tom Hoover in Photoshop. The zomie was sketched in Photoshop, then brought into Illustrator. The black inkline was drawn and colored in Illustrator.

These are just a couple of options.:)

Photoshop / Wacom / DTG are what you need to be looking at to get your designs on a t-shirt.
Thank you so much for your help guys.
But what drawing tablet would be the best for hardlines?
And is it easy tiger use to it.
Wacom - as Dekay317 wrote - is the tablet to use. You'll probably want to get the Intuos Pro. Here's a link:

I have one and it's great! I use it with Illustrator and Corel Painter - depending on what type of artwork I'm doing. There is a learning curve but it's worth it in the end. Lots o' fun!

One thing I always like to tell people that are just starting to use this kind of software is to really take the time to actually learn how it works. Applications like photoshop, illustrator, corel, etc are professional tools. This means they have a learning curve to them. I suggest you do as Different said and download the free 30 day trails of AI/Photoshop and during this time look up tutorials and practice every day you can.

Its more than just being able to draw in the application you want to be able to develop a workflow which I believe is one of the most important things you can do especially if this is something you want to work with to make money. Its all about being efficient with the tools that you have at your disposal it will make your life 10000x easier.
