OK- I have hit MANY brick walls- I am trying to find something that will print ALMOST any image on ANY T-shirt! I have a SG400 that sits here... I have a reg Epson ET-3600 EcoTank but NOW I am hearing PIGMENT inks for transfer... I just want to give my customers a product I can be PROUD to advertise. One that WILL NOT fade after it has been washed. I cannot charge $20 for a shirt that FADES! I am making the designs in Illustrator... and just want to print them out and heat press- sounded simple enough months ago- Now... I hit wall after wall- either with a defective product or with not QUITE all the correct info (ie "Yes ANY GOOD laser printer"... 45 days later "Must be a LED laser printer") Please help! I am new here and so far reading through some of these post I have already learned so much. Basically- here is my question. I am looking at the Epson Artisan 1430- BestBuy has is cheaper than CobraInk, can I buy it from BB and then buy the Pigment Ink Replacement Cartridges from Cobra? OR Just buy it from Cobra- I do not print enough to warrant the CIS- or at least not yet- however, if I am buying the printer from Cobra- it is only $50 more to buy it with the CIS system installed.... Any Advice??? TIA!

Yes, you can buy it from anywhere you want.
Yes, you can just get the refillable cartridges from cobra.
Yes, you should NOT use a CIS if your not going to printing constantly. Use refillable cartridges, it only takes a couple minutes to refill them.

No printing technology is right for EVERY job. That is why so many people have more then one way to produce the finished product.

you have a epson with pigment inks already,
so buy some jpss and start experimenting to see if you like it
start here

it is only for lights, unfortunately for darks there is not too much that does not have a very heavy hand
or cracks excessively (esp. after multiple wash/dry cycles)

for that you may have to go to a laser, check the laser sub-section for papers and equipment info
