Hello,
Little background, as a full time cartoonist who after 38 years has become vintage, so why do some vintage art? I like building & Racing rat rods which is a culture unto itself. think rockabily meet rat fink.
I have a car club called the Rat Bastards I did the car plaque in the traditional way which i sold on e-bay for $50 a pop! (over 25 sold) hot rodders all over the world bought them. I now want to print the attached design on a supply of clean good condition work shirts & shop jackets.
My first question any problems DTG printing on used clothing?
I would like feedback on the distress, none, alittle, or more.
Then -say what you feel I have thick skin. I may call you a Rat Bastard but that is a compliment !
Thank you for your time

I don't think you'd have any problems with DTG printing on used clothing. Just know that there are incidents that can happen when running clothing through a printer. You might get a smudge here or there so give your printer an extra one or two items just in case that happens. My experience is with digital direct to garment printing so I'm not familiar with the dtg that prints more like screen printing. The digital dtg ink goes straight into the cloth fibers so it's a super soft image that looks great when making vintage looks. However, there are color limitations since the shirt or garment must be lighter than the inks being used. Hope that helps. I love your art!

The design looks good, I think a little distress is enough, too much kinda ruins it.
By the way Guy I took your advice and replaced my blog header with a more illustrated one, what do you think? Joe Brogan
YES
Lead with your best punch. Thats what sets you apart from everybody else! You hit it on my design I am not sure how much distress to do
so I am doing a number of samples, for different colors I may need to do a version for that color?
Joe, you are a Rat Bastard, Thanks

I think the design is a good start but a bit more detail in the flame licks would amp it up.
if that is your ride, you are a lucky guy

The flames are a good suggestion, maybe ghosted on the background.

You are definitely a Rat Bastard!
