Are US Cutters OK?

I'm planning on placing an order tomorrow and am looking for advice...
I want to get a vinyl cutter to add some lettering to some of my signs that I make. I have a 5X10 CNC plasma cutting table and while most of my stuff wouldn't need any vinyl on it, I have often thought that if I had a vinyl cutter, I could add some nice stuff to some of my work. Most of the signs that I would use vinyl on are in the 2'x3' size, and probably one color.

I'm thinking about getting a US Cutter SC2 as my budget is right around 400.00. (theirs is 420.00) I use Corel Draw right now, and am very used to it since I've been using it on metal for over 10 years. It sounds like the SC2 can import files right from Corel so I should be good there.

I'm also planning on getting a 12 pack of different color Oracal 651 rolls (24" x 10 yards) from USC for about 21.66 each and a roll of 12" x 100 yards of medium premask (1310G) for 48 bucks.

Do these prices seem ok?
Should I be checking out some other places?
I've looked at a few different brands, but it seems like USC is pretty popular for a starter cutter...?
Thanks in advance!

We started with a US Cutter LP24 for $400 and made a few hundred thousand with it and sold it for $200 5 years later. It wasn't great but it worked and we were able to buy a Graphtec for $1600.

Increase your budget and get the right equipment from the start.

$48 for a 12"x100yrd roll of transfer tape is pretty high compared to what we pay.

that's cool !!!
Nothing wrong with starting with cheaper or unbranded equipment, as long as the aftersales is good and you have some spare budget to replace it if things go wrong.

We actually made $500 profit on our first order. Paid for it with that.

It was not great for small cuts but a lot of people put a lot of effort on blogs and forums and videos to show how to make it better. Aside from that it gets you into the game. Save your pennies and buy a better cutter when you are ready.

uscutter has great Transfer tape. I use the Greenstar papertape and just bought the clear to try it out. But never have a issue with the Greenstar on 651,751.

What's funny is I gave the guy a clean cut blade with it and he jammed it into my counter ruining the blade and his girlfriend freaked out! He needed it for a show the next day where he did cut to order decals.
