I currently use the Augusta Sportswear 100% polyester shirts for my dye sub transfers. These are decently priced for shirts of this nature from Jiffy Shirts, but my question is if anybody has came across more competitively priced shirts suitable for dye sublimation without compromising quality.

We get some from San Mar. They're thin so they're difficult to dye-sub without leaving marks but women love how "silky" they feel. Our most popular poly shirts are Vapor Apparel. They are, in my opinion, the very best and my personal favorite shirts.

Vapor is a nice 5.9oz 100% poly that feels closer to cotton than anyother poly shirt we have found. Other than going with a light 4.3 or other (which most men don't like wearing) vapor is the way to go.

Anyone know what's going on with gildan and their ring spun poly shirt? I was told last Christmas by a vendor of theirs at a trade show that they were coming out with one. He even had a sample that was nice. I think if they do produce one the price point will be better than vapor.

Gildan has a 42000 poly shirt that feels like cotton I got them from Bodek and Rhodes. I also use a lot of Jerzee 21m for 190 shirts I just made for a swim team. They loved them. If you use any other color than white though you will have to press the whole front of the shirts to bleed some of the color or there will be a box around the print from usin the foam pad.

So there was a color change on the area of shirt that was under the heat press or just the area under the pillow? Could you lower the temperature so there wouldnt be a color change but still get a good transfer?

It has to be transferred at 385. To not get any color shift it would have to be under 300 so sublimation won't work. I have used sisser stretch at 285 on a ST350 shirt and had great success.

Sisser stretch sounds like a vinyl, I'm looking for shirts to use with dye sub transfers. Has anybody else had problems with color change applying dye sub transfers and if so were you able to do anything to fix the issue?

When we press the poly shirts the color changes until it cools down, then it reverts to the original color - every time. We've done thousands of Vapor Apparel shirts and had no problems with the colors changing.

That works for white but the ST350, Jerzee 21m, or Gildan 42000 in any other color other than white leaves a lighter color box where the image was pressed on the foam. I prress with almost no pressure where the foam is compressed maybe 1/8"-1/4" and it helps but it is still there. I have never used any vapor shirt other than white so I am not sure if their colored shirts shift color. Vapor is too expensive for me to buy the safety orange shirt is almost $6.50 no profit margin in it. If anyone knows where I can get them cheaper I would love to know.

Where do you normally get your shirts for dye sublimation?
