Are the ISS trade shows good for finding new imprintable products or is it entirely based on printing methods and equipment?

I'm more on the apparel side but always interested in finding things I would never have thought of. I'll check out the PPAI website. Thank you.65 Pontiac:
If you are looking for a huge source of promotional items, the best show is the PPAI show in Vegas. It's a much better source for showing all the stuff that you can print. It's usually at the very start of the year, and sometimes the timing is off. I've been numerous times.
ISS is really focused on the apparel industry. Almost all of the vendors are targeting that sector, but there are a few that will show secondary items too.
Best advice is to use the internet and compare shows. There's always a exhibitor list and you can check them out without walking the floor. Everyone has a website.
Good luck,

Thanks, Rodney. I gather from the comment below that you are THE T-Shirt Forum. Nice to meet you. I'm from Michigan and considering the upcoming ISS Columbus show.Yes, it's a great place to find new imprintable product vendors.
That's one of my favorite reasons for attending. You get to see lots of different blank t-shirt, apparel and other imprintable styles all in one place. You see the various colors, quality, and styles without having to buy a ton of samples.
Oh I'll have a ton of questions, They'll be eager for me to move right along down aisle.ISS is great for getting apparel information. I suggest bringing a list of questions so you can really talk to the reps. The more interest you show the more freebies you'll get in addition to all the great information and the salespeople get more input on what decorators want.
A) Should I register in advance? As a supplier, let me tell you, we LOVE the people who have questions! So please, ask away!!

Thanks, Irv. Extremely helpful.I have been going to the ISS shows for 4 years - not all shows are the same so I attend in various regions to see the vendors that do not venture far from home. All the major companies do all and they do have giveaways. Not all give away the swatch cards, but if you know to ask they usually travel with a stash. I just did the AC show last month and picked up all of my 2012 swatches. Those are for the shirts and the vinyl vendors usually have a ring for their products - some you will have to order for a nominal charge. The classes are good also, especially if just starting out. They will cover all the topics to get you started and most topics to help in the production process. I have never gone to the Columbus show and think it is its 1st year. So jump in gather your questions and if you ask all the vendors the same questions - then you will be comparing apples with apples.
All you need is to register with your company name and info. It's free before April 19th.A) Should I register in advance?
B) What will ISS need from me to register. I'm going into wholesale so I don't have a State Tax ID like a retailer.
Thanks, Stephanie! All you need is to register with your company name and info. It's free before April 19th.

You're very welcome! I'll be there walking the floor, too, so be sure to look for me!Thanks, Stephanie!
Hey, Rodney. I'll most likely still attend and I don't mean to sound pretentious but I was hoping there might be more representation from similar companies like Allstyle and American Apparel. Like maybe Royal or Gildan or Chouinard. Is Columbus more of a regional show? Are there other ISS shows where these companies might be represented?Yes, it's a great place to find new imprintable product vendors.

While Columbus is a more regional show you will see some brands there (like Alstyle and American Apparel). Also you'll have regional distributors like Heritage Sportswear, One Stop, S&S Activewear and SanMar which have many, many brands and will showcase different brands you're looking for like Gildan and Choinard (aka Comfort Colors) and more. Typically you'll see more mills (like Royal Apparel) at the larger shows which are earlier in the year and held in Long Beach, Orlando and Atlantic City. I would go check out Columbus and then come out to Long Beach in January (or go to Atlantic City next March) where you'll see even more!Hey, Rodney.
