You have to actually go by feel, there's not another way that i know of, if you can close it easily then your at light pressure, for medium to heavy you have a little strain trying to close it down. For transfers from proworld if not using a name brand press, i recommend 400f to 20 secs, that's what i use to use when i was using my sunie press. Hope this helps.

We recommend that the pressure is adjusted so that you can close the machine without having to 'break your arm'. A nice comfortable lockdown is sufficient. We recommend 385 degrees and 8-10 seconds.

I agree, but your recommendations, when using a cheapy press doesn't cut it, i remember starting off with those settings and screwing up a lot of transfers from you guy's , and very mad i increased temp and time and it worked. Now i use a name brand press and those settings of 385 degrees and 8 secs seems to do the trick.

What is a PSI?
PSI stands for "Pounds per Square Inch," and is the common unit of measurement for pressure. Automatic heat presses, which run on compressed air for their closing and opening power, have a knob or dial to set the PSI.

Since you have a manual press, it is not really relevant. Setting pressure on a manual press is by "feel". Even the presses that have "pressure" readouts do not correspond to a particular PSI, but only to a scale like 1 to 10.

Hope this helps.

Nick We are now selling the Sunie press and have had great results with the application instructions I provided. Maybe they have improved on the machines since your purchase.

Yeah, you could be right, i bought that press a while back, so maybe there was improvement's. I don't use that press anymore since i got my mighty, but keep my sunie as a back up, pretty good heat presses for the price, and i would definetly recommend them for somebody that's starting of on a low budget.:D Thank's for chimming in.:)
