Has anyone seen this problem? In the attached photo you can see that about two/thirds of the way through the print the printer just dumped ink all over the shirt.

This shirt was the 18th in a 21 shirt run. the things I've tried are:
1. Clean the printer, unplug the power cord and reprint the file from CorelDraw X4. tried a test print that started ok, but after about 2" it started dumping ink again.
2. Clear the RIP Queue, Unplug the printer, and reboot the computer. Again it started to print but after about 1.5" it started dumping ink all over the place.
Note: Ink Discharge bottle is empty. No lights are flashing.

Any help is appreciated.

Just in case anyone was wondering what our problem was, it's called "Rainbow Blob" per Allen at SWF East. Basically, the gear that drives the belt that moves the print head housing, was clogged causing the belt to skip or jump. The printer couldn't tell where the head was so it just started dumping ink. Genius!

After cleaning the gear and belt, we are back up and running.

Frank- try and make this part of your maintenance routine its helps for the future many don't know that this happens and they run into the situation you just did.

we had no idea either and it caused all sorts of problems..

I had a similar problem recently but cleaning the gear didn't help. We ended up replacing the belt drive motor... probably not a bad idea to keep one on hand as a spare...
