anyone interested in a vinyl and hot fix transfer tape buying co-op?

Hi guys

I wondered if anyone else here in Australia is finding the cost of purchasing the heat transfer vinyl rather expensive?

Last month I sent for some samples of vinyl from China and then decided to bite the bullet and bought some black, white and red to use. It has been fantastic vinyl and I am 100% satisfied with it.

Since then I have been playing with the glitter and the hologram samples that were sent. I have been thrilled at the results, they weeded well, applied well and after 6 runs through the washing machine show no signs of the glitter vinyl losing it's glitter or the hologram vinyl flaking.

So, why this post? I have been in touch with China regarding the glitter vinyl and I am told that the prices on vinyl go up on October 1, so I wondered if anyone would like to join a purchasing co-op if I set one up? At this point what I am looking for is simply an expression of interest before I go to the trouble of uploading photos of samples etc only to find no one is interested.

It looks like the cost of the glitter vinyl (49cm wide) will be $13/m inclusive of freight to me, while the hologram vinyl (50cm wide) is likely to be $7/m inclusive of freight to me. There would be the charge of post from me to you (but then you would have this charge regardless of wherever you buy it).

As a comparision, to purchase glitter or hologram vinyl in Australia I find it is in the region of $23 - $28/m.

I don't have a price yet for the hot fix transfer tape but hope to have it in the next 24 hours.

If anyone is going to ask for samples, let me say now I can send samples of the regular vinyl as I have loads of that but I have used up nearly all the samples of the glitter and hologram. I am intending to upload photos but any samples sent out really would be only a couple of cm squares (if not too many people ask for samples that is!)

If you are interested in more information, PM me here at the Forum and I will look at setting up a database and photographs so we can progress things further.

I would like to have everything finalised, payments in to me around the 20th of September and the order placed with China by 25th September at the absolute latest so that I have some wiggle room should the exchange rate take a nose dive for a couple of days.

Sorry, forgot to mention those prices are AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS, not US dollars

Bumping this up in the list again. Anyone interested?

Hi Kim, I'm a bit new to this T-shirt business, although I have been running my own small (micro) embroidery business for 5 years. Last year I added sublimation, mainly mugs and stubby coolers etc. The heat press has not had much use. Local theatre Company wanted me to do 50 T's with a multi coloured logo.(17 colours) Tried it with the heatpress...looks like crap. So I told them to reduce the logo to 6 colours and get it screen printed. Anyway, I thought vinyl could be interesting. Obviously you are restricted to one colour but the glitter may be the way to go. Do you have your own vinyl cutter? and is it possible to buy a couple of designs off you so I can see how it al works? (any size/shape) Looking forward to seeing the pix. cheers Ed
Hi Ed

I have sent you a PM.

Hi Kim,
This doesn't have anything to do with your thread but I'm new to this and I want to get into the t-shirt business and have been for a while. I live in Sydney. Do you think you could help guide me in the right direction? I would really appreciate it. I'm doing research and all but as you can image it's overwhelming. Thanks in advance.

Hi James

You will find that we are a friendly bunch here at the Forum and everyone is very willing to help. What sort of thing are you looking for informatio on? Do you want to screen print, apply vinyl, apply bling, sublimate? There is such a scope with t-shirts that narrowing the field of information down a bit would be great :)

Hey, do you know if they do a reflective gold?
We use other colours but use about a roll a month of gold, and our supplier had changed who they use and the new stuff isnt that good.

Hi Kim

I am new to the forum. I am in North West of WA and would definitely be interested in buying within the co-op if you do another order. Are you able to e-mail or message me colour charts and prices?

Thanks in Advance
Sue
Hi Kim,

I would definitely be interested when you are looking to do your next order. Does your supplier also supply glow in the dark ?
Can't say I remember seeing a glow in the dark but I will check and get back to you.

Just spoke to Danny and apparently PU Flex #34 is glow in the dark! Will definitely be ordering some once I've got some cash... or if you order a roll I'd be keen for a few metres if you can sell me some?
LOL Tim, I can't afford another order at the moment but if you place an order I'd love to buy a couple of metres from you as I think glow in the dark would be good fun.

Kim
Hey guys I am considering buying a roll of glow in the dark myself so will let you know if I do

Kim,

Did everything get distributed from your co-op order or do you have a list of what you have available ?
