Anyone here used these inks?

Does anyone here have any experience with these inks? I am considering getting an Epson printer with the bulk system and these inks after my Richoh died.

I'd be wary of buying any inks which aren't branded -these bottles appear to be branded as "InkJet Ink" - who made them, where do they come from, etc etc.
If the seller is bottling and labelling, how do you know what he's putting in there, and what if he decides to use a different ink in the future - you're not going to know until your prints suddenly change colour.

Which leads to his first FIQ stating that you don't need an ICC profile - he's either lying or doesn't know what he's talking about. I wouldn't trust anything else he says.

If you're in US then look at Cobra or J-Tech, if in Europe, look for InkTec

I have or should I say use the ink in question. I. Know where he get h his ink from so I go thru the source and it's true you don't need a profile with their ink. I print from Photoshop and use matte paper and adobe 1998 and the colors pop. I use to work for a place that renamed everything that they made. It would blow your mind if you knew. I will say this the place was call moog and a certain auto store would order break pads and change the label to a higher brand label and the product was the same product. But back to that ink it's good. This is the ink printed on a mug and phone case from a image on the internet. If the images would off not been so nice I would off went with a better ink and profile but I was told that they all get there ink from the same supplier and just relable . I figured it was a lie till I remembered where I use to work at and what they did. So I tried it.

Do you happen to have the original images to go with those for comparison? Even without profiles, you could get nice prints. But a bigger issue is color accuracy compared to the original source.

Marian,
If you're in the US, you can give Cobra Ink a try. They are pretty cheap and you can buy their bulk system kits which come with 4oz bottles per color. I got mine yesterday for the Artisan 1430, install was easy and hassle free. They have ICCs for various current and popular printers. Very happy with it. Waiting for my press to try them out myself but their reputation around here is great.

Abobe 1998 RGB is a workspace profile and not a printer profile - using it as a printer profile makes no sense.
Without a printer/ink profile the computer has no way of knowing how to mix the inks in the printer to give you accurate colours.

yep I do have the original image it's on my laptop at home but I'm on my tablet. The images are identical. I also use to work for kodak so let's say I know real ink manufactures. So I know all about the labeling
Thanks for the info- I have seen Cobra mentioned. Is there anyone specifically I should talk to?

Make sure you get a hold of Richard. Since they're careful to who they sell to, choose which printer you will use before contacting so that he knows you're serious about buying. He might deny you otherwise. Nice people though.

@ Djque,
If it works it works, I guess. Even if the ink is just as good as others, there may end up being other factors that could end up affecting OPs printing results. Wouldn't hurt to go with a company that has a good reputation and technical support ready if he runs into any problems. There also seems to be different sellers of that ink on Amazon, in case he or other choose that route, who did you get it from so they're sure they're getting it from the right people.
and what epson printer and bulk ink system do you recommend. I only plan on small format.

I got myself the Artisan 1430 from Amazon and kit via Cobra. Cheaper to get them seperate and assemble yourself (easy to assemble). Ran me $530.

You can save yourself about $130 if you get a workforce 7510, anything cheaper and you'll go from 13" to 8.5" wide prints.

I got the Artisan because it's quite popular around here, has slightly better specs, and uses 6 colors instead of 4. However, I can't confirm if this yields better results in sublimation.

Can you transfer this accurately?

The original is in the zip file I post a photo so that others can see it.

You will very quickly be able to see the flaws of not printing with a profile. You also didn't mention if you have to piecemeal tweak your images or not to get them to match.

I would be interested to see how that photo comes without a profile. My money says that your fleshtones and grayscales are flawed. Use the one in the zip package, not the one that I displayed.
