Any tips/tricks for complex fills using DAS system?

Does anyone have any tips for producing tightly spaced / complex (i.e. multiple curves and turns in design) fills using the DAS system? It seems that the built in macros are made for simple shapes and the more complex designs seem to take quite a bit of manual work (i.e. drawing and arching lines to place stones along, etc.).
