I know the lawson mini trooper ships fully assembled but I was curious if anyone out there knew of any other automatic presses that would ship fully assembled. It would be nice to receive the press and get straight to it, but I assume the size is always going to be the issue for shipping. I was looking for a 6 color - either 7 or 8 station press. Thanks All!:D:D:D

Straight out of the box and right to printing may not be possible.. You might have to work out the kinks make sure it's level and everything is in working order. Make sure pallets are level and proper adjustments are made.

Thanks but that's not really what I'm asking. I understand there's gonna be a need to level the press and make adjustments. I was asking if any ship pre assembled rather than paying someone to come out and assemble the press. I'm looking for a small auto that I can run out of my home based shop so the size would be on the smaller end.

As an owner of a press you will eventually need to know how to fix it. Putting a press together is not that hard. If you can turn a wrench you can put the arms on a press. I like presses I can work on and get the parts easily. Nothing like being down for a week and missing deadlines. You should familiarize yourself on how to replace a proximity sensor, how to level the machine, the heads, and the pallets, all you need is a level and flat screen to get real close. Techs have tools that confirm this, but at some time during ownership you will have a pallet that doesn't print well while all the others do. Sometimes simply leveling that pallet will fix things. Having multiple techs available also helps when one may be out of your area and you need another.

I'd say do your homework. I'd hope you would never make any huge capital investment based on what you read on a forum, or saw on YouTube...

I'd also add that if you don't want to ever pay a press tech, then as Mr. Buffington wisely pointed out, you'll want to learn a lot about your auto up front. (Probably from a press tech? :))
