any advice on cleaning off old mesh adhesive for re screening?
i have a belt sander..what grit sand paper?or any suggestions .
i have a lot of old screens someone didnt take care of and i cleaned them with ink remover but they are still dirty would like to get them looking new again.

Lol no, use emulsion remover sandpaper will destroy it

wire wheel, wire brush, wire wheel brush, flap disc, etc.

anything but grinder disk or risk grinding down the aluminum frame. You may want to PM edisback2010 in las vegas. He mentioned a tool he used for this purpose

Belt sanders rock. I use a medium (100-120) grit belt.

Use a dust mask. (Or do it like me--get someone else to wear a dust mask and do it. )

Personally, I would not sand the surfaces besides the one the mesh glues to--caustic haze remover will take off pretty much anything on an aluminum frame, but make sure you have good ventilation, and use the proper PPE.

thats what i bought ..120 grit belt...and flap disc for a drill and i have a palm sander. got a higher grit for it 220..i will try the haze remover..i tried 147 wash and it got alot of ink off but still they are dirty. all aluminum..anymore suggestions?
