Hi all!

I was pleasantly surprised to find a site full of knowledge, wisdom, and experience on the t-shirt biz! My wife and I are just starting out on this part-time venture... we're looking at marketing designs on t-shirts, mainly, and also other gift merchandise (y'know, bumper stickers, license plates, mugs, etc.). To that end, we're starting out with a shop at CafePress.com, but will likely migrate to our own site in the future. We're also coordinating with a local t-shirt printer to handle bulk and custom orders.

I see this as more of a "design shop" approach rather than a "t-shirt production" approach, as I'm hoping we can concentrate on designs and marketing (online and in-real-life) and not so much on inventory and production. Rather outsource that if possible. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Anyway, glad to be here! Although we by no means have all of our design ideas up and "out there", feel free to check out our shop at http://www.cafepress.com/tulsatees

P.S. It's okay to put a shop link in the siggie...?

It's one of many workable approaches. Outsourced production means lower margins... but that's pretty irrelevant if you're able to sell more because you're concentrating on your strengths :)

In short, yes, good ;)

Yup, up to two links is fine.

The rules on self-promotion, linking, etc. are here if you ever need to know.
