Hey guys. I'm a teenager looking to sell apparel online for some extra cash. My target audience will be the teenage/college crowd and will mostly be designing athletic and humor shirts. I'm thinking of starting out with Cafepress for my supply and Homestead's Storefronts for my webspace.

I'm new to this game, and I think I have a good sense of of what kids like me want. However, I don't know what kind of computer program to use to design my ideas so that I may upload to Cafepress. I've heard Photoshop is popular. Any suggestions?

You're doing it Smart ! :)

Corel should work too. I dont have a cp store though .
I too am wondering if simply using Photoshop is OK for Cafe Press printing. Is there any need to use a vectorized program? Would a vectorized image improve print quality at all, even if it is only marginally:confused:

You don't need vector graphics for cafepress designs.

You don't even need photoshop. You can do it with free programs like gimp other free graphics editors.

I've used paint shop pro ($79) and it works just fine.

You just need to make high resolution images 200dpi+ with whatever graphics program you choose.

They have a pretty helpful graphics faq/post in their forum with some software suggestions:

I'm a big fan of Illustrator. It's great for vector illustrations.
Is CorelDraw any good?
Yes. In fact, you'll find lots of posts talking about CorelDraw if you do a search of the forums :)
