Trying to decide which would be a better purchase. The Anajet Sprint or Belquette's Mod1.

Can anyone help?

I have no Anajet experience but have a mod 1.

I would highly recommend Belquette and the mod 1.

I would go with Belquette, The Mod-1 is very proven, it has been run in the real world for quite some time with very little issue and a great support staff.

I have been researching for quite some time and it's always been about the Anajets. The mpower impressed me but reading reviews it sounds like the color and print quality are just not there. I then saw the print quality of the neoflex and was blown away. The neoflex seemed very slow compared to the anajet so I was stuck there. Then I saw this post and was finally introduced to the mod 1. I have never heard of it before but the speed and color seem to be outstanding. Why is this not discussed more?

i did ton of research, ended up with a 541 and a mod 1 , knock wood been running mod over a year, no issues, the anajet i did not look at hard as it seemed there was as many unhappy users at the time as happy ones, the mod has been a great unit for us and the comapny helped us when we needed, had an odd problem, turned out it was a laser mis alignment, we could still print was just doing odd things, the owners came to my shop and fixed, drove 6 hours from a show and stayed and made it right and taught me some new tricks, the level of service after sale was above and beyond, also whenever we need any help, jerid is jonny on the spot, very happy with them

When I attend the ISS show earlier in the month, I visited all of the DTG printers I could. I brought along my own artwork and had each company print a shirt for me, using the same general settings.

The annajet: It was a nice printer, they only had the MPower 10 there. The print quality was decent, but the colors did not "pop" they blended all together. I was not impressed. Plus the sales lady I had been talking to for a month or two before was there, and all she wanted to do was ask for money and bash all of the printers.

The Neoflex: Was by far the best printer I saw at the show, the colors were amazing, and the print quality around was by far the best. Yes it is a bit slow for a black shirt, around 3 minutes) but considering you can print 3 shirts at once, makes it nice. Also the large print area was a plus too. (I plan on purchasing one in the near future) ((They also had the best RIP software at the show))

The Mod1: Came up second on my list of printers, it had a decent print quality, and speed, and the rip software seemed to work nicely too. The sales team seemed very knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. The only thing I did not like about this printer was that the ink was stored in bags exposed to the outside elements, that seemed a little risky to me.

The Graff-tee (sp) by brother: was a decent printer too, the print quality was sad to say the least for the price. It printed quickly, with a white base being almost overcoated by the CMYK base. The nicest thing about this printer that all you needed to do was print, no rip software needed.

The DTG Viper: This one was at the bottom of my list, it was not a very good printer in my opinion, it even broke down while I was watching a demo. The guy who printed my shirt, "spruced" it up for me, and the whole print came out blurry.

The biggest problem I saw with the AnnaJet and the Brother printers was the fact that they went for speed and not quality. With the Neoflex, and the Mod1 it was all about the quality of the print and not the speed at which it was printed.

Do you have an example of the prints? I'd like to do a side by side comparision between the mod one and the neoflex. Also I heard and have seen the upkeep on the neoflex is quite extensive. Not sure about the MOD 1's maintenance.

The first picture is the Neoflex, the second is the Mod1

As far as maintenance goes, the daily maintenance is the same, and the weekley maintenance for the Neoflex is not bad either.

Thank you for those!!

Was the Mod 1 shot under different lighting or was the shirt lightened that much from a pre-treatment?

The mod 1 shirts was taken the same way as the neo, I dont know why the shirt showed up so bright with the flash, (i am in a bad lighting area)... the shirt that it is printed on is a bit lighter in a black color than the Neo is, but other than that it looks the same as the shirt does

we were really scared about upkeep, i was looking at the ms-one, an owner scared me off though when he said it was 3 hours of maintanence, on the mod

end of day we swab head with windex, fill cap station with windex, swap wiper and spray the foam head cleaning area, takes about 5 minutes, once a month i put some sewing machine oil on rail, just few drops, the bags are nice , just shake em good and you are ready to go if you have not printed in few days and do 2 head cleans or an ink charge, we also do a head flush about every 6 weeks, we use warm water and ammonia and then windex and then the cleaning solution they provide, we just flush the white, we are on original head, maybe have done 2200-2500 tees on it, honestly its not bad i thought it would be much more, if you have not run for a week or so you may needto do more, just keep head moist and it seems to do the trick for us at least

that doesn't sound bad at all. How many shirts do you usually get on set of ink bags? I know all prints are different, but on average what do you see?

Larry
Hey Mustang, can you take a picture of those again side by side in the same photo? If you look at the black on the shirt of the Mod1 it's much more washed out looking. I know the shirt could be a bit duller, but I've not seen it that much different. I've worked quite a bit recently on colors on the Mod1 and I know the colors are much more vibrant than before. I'd be interested in seeing this on the same photo for a true comparison.

I want to clarify a couple of things. The smaller format printers will print much faster than 48xx based printers. We know this to be true because we manufacture the FlexiJet. We find the Mod1 is about 2 to 2 1/2 times faster than the FlexiJet. If a full sized print takes three minutes on the Mod1, it will take about 8 minutes on the FlexiJet.

The bags are on a shelf for easy access. People position their printers in a way where the bags are out of the way. At trade shows, we are limited to our space. The way we have to turn our machines usually expose the bags more often than reality of use.

We've really put a tremendous amount of time and research into the way we handle our ink and we believe the bagged system is simply the best at this time. I know you are looking at it from an ascetic standpoint, but we are looking at it from more of a functionality standpoint. I'm sure we can improve on the ascetics, but we wanted the system to function the right way first and foremost.

We do appreciate the constructive criticism because it helps us to look at it from the end user and drives us to improve on our products.

Even with the flash, I think it shows the colors better than without. Thanks for the update.

Please dont get me wrong, I really liked the Mod 1, as far as the bags go, it was not the deciding factor in anything. Just an observation.

I made spread sheets, and spend numerous hours on both websites comparing.

I like the job vault you all offer, I would find it useful if I had employees and not just myself, haha.

Maintenance between the Mod1 and any other machine will be different. Because of the open architecture of the Printer Module of the Mod1, you do not have to take off any covers of the machine nor are you obstructed from the vital areas to be cleaned. Also, since there are no electronics under the pump unit (there is a maintenance tray), you can spray Windex into the Pump Unit area and clean the whole area properly.

we also do a head flush about every 6 weeks
Reid,

I don't know if you have seen this on the Mod1 Users Forum, but here is a video showing how to flush the white ink lines on the Mod1:

Fantastic video thank you! That does seem to waste alot of white ink though? Can and should that ink be reused somehow?

Thank you,

Larry
