I want to know how the gap between the dampers and the printhead affect the printhead when they are separated for maintenance.

The damper is meant to break all air bubbles before the printhead, but it is possible to separate the two and leave space for air before re-connecting and printing again.

Is this small amount of air perfectly sound to let run through the printhead?

or should something light like a nozzle check be used after re-attaching?

Thanks for any input! :)

Pressure would potentially damage the head but other than that unless you're going to do maintenance in a vaccum chamber, wearing a hazmat suit with oxygen supply then there's no way of escaping air in general :)

Ok, I think I have my answer thanks! I was just worried every time the printhead was disconnected from the dampers you'd end up trapping oxygen in between the two when putting them back together and this would have to be be expelled via the printhead.

But yeah, I think I shouldn't have anything to worry about?
