Just a general question (not sure I am posting this in the right Section) here it is:
So I have created a decal in Illustrator CS6 ready to be cut, does it matter what size the stroke is before I send it to GreatCut2?
A stroke is not a path. You need to expand it to the point where you get the path where you want the cut. Ink either side of a cut won't create a cut on the ink.
The cutter will cut along the path. You'll probably need to delete the unwanted paths to avoid multiple cuts.
Veiw your graphic in outlines mode see what the cutter is going to cut. Like 20vK said above, you may actually have paths that cross which may give you undesired results when you send it to your cutter.
