I have been using the 1400 for over a year...and doing fine. FYI....I dont think the clogging issue is connected with the CIS, but rather the ink... I have had one issue with clogging in a year...and cleaned the head and it was all okay...

The 1400 is an entry level workhorse, meaning that it is the least expensive printer that will do 17 inch wide...

good choice...go for it and get the rebate!
