Why not used?

I got a m+r Chameleon taht was about a year old for 3000$

There is no comparison in quality between the chameleon and the Hopkins presses, in my opinion.

And if a brand new hopkins costs 3 gs, I would wait for a used press.

M&R builds presses incredibly well.

My Dad designs industrial sawmill machinery, and when he took a look at my press, he was amazed. Small details like machining a face of a part that doesn't need to be perfectly square, sum up the quality of their presses.

Everything is pin registered as well, so if you move it, it goes back together in exactly the same way it should be.

Heavy as hell, but the Cadillac of presses.

Well, that gets a little tricky. Affliction has a lot of All-Over designs. All-Over designs with a Riley Hopkins 6/6 press would be extremely hard, if not impossible. I have made some really large custom pallets and printed with some large screens on my Riley Hopkins...but its tricky. A 6/6 Riley Hopkins can only hold 2 really big screens.

You will really want to research Micro-Registration before buying a press. Micro-registration is a must for multi color designs. FYI - the Riley Hopkins 6/6 comes with joystick micro-registration. Some people don't like the joystick registration. I'd suggest trying out standard and joystick registration before you buy. You can get the Riley Hopkins with standard registration but I believe it's an extra fee.

When we first started, I bought a used 6 color 4 station micro reg side clamps Rototex press from a man who had a nasty divorce for $800. The press is solid and built pretty well. I would say the specific press I have was built around 1990?

I also bought two used 1990 8 color 8 station hopkins press with micros and side clamps, 16 newman roller frames, two 24" x 36" flash dryers, for $4,000.

Basically, if you look around, you will find a lot of deals out there. I would buy used if you can, especially on a manual press. You will get more value for your money.
