My old boss is having issues with her 416 machine. For whatever reason, when you turn the speed dial all the way up, the sewing speed peaks at like 500spm. Might even be slower. With the dial all the way down, it looks like it is sewing closer to 120spm. They said that the tech came to fix an issue and he took the control board apart. When he put it back together is when this started.

Anyone ever see this happen before?

More of an expert on 1201 and 1204 brother machines but it sounds like the parameters were not reset when the board was reinstalled. (basically the speeds are programmed into the machine after assembly)

Do you mean the main board situated underneath the cylinder arm? I've replaced a fair few of those and never had to do anything to get the speeds correct. There are some speed settings in 1201/4/6 but not these old ones. I've never heard of this problem TBH. What did the tech actually come out for?

PS just found an online manual and around page 68 is an instruction for speed setting. It's also allied to dipswitch setting. I wonder if the tech has altered the position of one or more switches.
