Hey y'all,

This is my first post. I wish I had found this site a couple years ago when I started silk screening.

My question is about ink jet heat transfer ink for use on ring spun cotton. My ink supplier says that I will not achieve full adhesion on a light weight ring spun t if I use pigment ink. He swears that I need to use plastisol ink heat transfer methods.

Anyone?

Hey Hive!
I'm also a newbie to the site and heat presses (I've done screen printing in the past). I actually am going to print on 4.3 oz black t-shirts with plastisol transfers I ordered from Seay Graphics. I can keep you updated as soon as I press them (probably on Wednesday).

Shirt:Jerzees Adult HiDENSI-T T-Shirt
Weight: 5 oz
Materials: 100%Cotton

Transfer: Seay : Hot Peel
Temp/Press Time: 365 for 8 seconds

Results: They turned out really great, I turned down the temperature because my heat press was setting off our fire alarm Even though my shirts weren't 4.3 oz (afterall) I would say that it shouldn't be a problem to press yours. Maybe more pressure since your shirt is so light? All the best!
