Today I have a WF 1100 door stop thanks to using 3rd party inks, 3 pages after refilling the 3rd party cartridges black smears started to appear, then the yellow print head clogged up and no amount of purging as per the supplier instructions could get the yellow to clear so a 5 months Wf1100 is now going to the dump. it has cost me $300 dollars to learn this lesson, but as my father told me nothing is for free

I had the same problem, I used 3rd party inks and my printer died.
Never have problems with Epson inks.
Having said that you will have many happy users of 3rd party inks. I suppose the QC of 3rd party inks is lower than Epson.
