I had Corel X5 on a desktop. The printer settings and everything got me by and I printed waterproof film on my Epson 1430 just fine. The computer crashed and I have X5 on my laptop. No matter what settings I use I can not get the film to be dark enough. This is driving me absolutely crazy and I do not even know where to begin. Someone please help...

In Corel Go to tools, color management turn simulate off and the check box preserve pure black.

In the Epson print dialogue use the following settings; best photo, premium glossy paper, click the avanced settings button and switch high speed off. If given the option check 100%k (black).

Has anything else changed? Are you using the same ink and film - there is a big variation in performance.

Read the post again. The OP was getting good results with their settings. They re installed Corel and now have the problem. If you don't check preserve pure black in Corel it will come out light especially if try to force it to print only black within the print menu. Magenta has a lot of UV blocking properties so printing a rich black is very helpful.
