Default TextJet Plus and getting it up and running

Ok... without going into all the in's and out's..
Purchased a used Texjet Advanced from a bankruptcy sale.. Came with the Dongle too.. (will save the comments etc about the dongle for later)
Firstly I have read a lot about blockages etc etc..
The printer may have stood for up to a month.. no idea what inks were being used, looks quite clean so not been hammered..
1) Obviously it needs flushing or whatever, can I just buy a cheap set of non oem small size cartridges and fill them with cleaning fluid? and actually then keep them for occasional full flushing... or as the TextJet ones are pressurised are the Epson 3880 ones different?

2) the Maintenance tank, seems to have gone missing from when I brought it and when I collected it.. the one I remember had actually had the internals removed and was just a sort of "slops tank"..
so do I just buy an Epson tank and use as is or remove the gubbins?
3) Cartridges in General... I note that the TexJet ones you can dismantle the valve and clean it, the cheapo ones you cannot, but is they are pressurised could they be used... for example if only printing using white occasionally would it not be better to use a small er cartridge?

4) Yes the head could be blocked.... I could have access to a spare... I also have an Epson Stylus 3880 and someone who can send me a new head at cost..

5) would it simply be better to change everything? time cleaning etc is not an issue for me.. it does not have to make me an income...

5b)I have a spare cartridge holder and pipe supply line.. this looks like it may have been removed due to a blockage.. can they be cleaned as a spare?

6) Pre treated shirts... read a few threads.. any new thoughts? if only doing occasional dark colours what is the shelf life of these shirts?

Thanks in advance...

Hello Peter,

please check our answer in the points you mention.

1. The cartrdiges we use are pressurized and can be provided by our official distribution network.

2. You can use an Epson 3880 maintenance tank and remove the foams inside so you can use it multiple times. Do you have the chip reseter for the maintenance tank, that is provided with each printer?

3. We suggest to use official Polyprint cartrdiges, as using third party, could result in ink flow issues.

4.5. We suggest to ask from your local supplier to check the printer condition.

6. In our test we had better results when you pretreated shirts before printing than using pre-pretreated shirts.
