Default Polyprint error 0020

Hi, Could really do with some help and advice if possible
We have a texjet polyprint dtg machine, not had it that long but purchased 2nd hand. We have done some prints today and realised one of the white cartridges wasn't fully pushed in. It printed fine on lights, but then when coming onto darks, the white wasn't printing properly, hence when we realised the cartridge problem. Since then the nozzle check on the white went from split to almost nothing, now the colours are going very split on nozzle check. It is now stating that there is no maintenance tank and error code 0020. The platen won't fully come out as it is not recognising the maintenance tank.
Our support contact Amaya is shut, and we are desperately searching some help or advice?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

These are basically epson printers converted to DTG. They all work pretty much the same way

The maintenance tank has a chip which needs resetting every so on. You need to fix this before you can run a head cleaning cycle, because this is where the waste ink goes.

Make sure the maintenance tank is not full of ink or you will be making a mess inside your printer at some point.

Thank you for that. We have now managed to reset the maintenance tank. Our nozzle check is coming out with no white and colours all have big gaps in.
Could this be to do with air trapped in them from the cartridge not being in properly?
We have performed quite a few power cleans, is this the same as a head cleaning cycle?
Really appreciate the help
Thank you

The big gaps could be air, if the printer run out of ink, or if you have a crack in the ink base. Unlikely to have multiple cracks at the same time. If you have cracks the base needs replacing.

If you have no cracks, then take a syringe with and force some cleaning solution down there to remove the air. Do it very gently because some heads are sensitive to pressure. Others can be waterfalled without a problem. Dont put too much pressure if you feel like the solution isn't going through.
It may be clogs as well...the procedure is the same as for the the air.

For the white, you most definitely have a clog, and a very bad one. I can only wish you best of luck for this one, because some times it is so bad that cannot be unclogged, and you may need a new head.

White ink clogs really bad! Be very careful with it. Daily maintenance is required.

Thank you for getting back to me and apologies for the delay.
We have been trying everything we can to resolve as very new to this.
Have you had any experience with magic bullet printhead unblocker?
I have watched videos but they are all showing different printers and I don't know how to use it on our particular printer.
Thank you

I'd use the cleaning solution recommended by the ink supplier. The wrong cleaning solution may gel the ink inside the nozzles and make it even worse.

Let the head soak in cleaning solution for a couple of days if you can (requires removal). Then test it.

if it doesn't work repeat for another 2-3 days.
If it doesn't work again, them you may need a new print-head.

and Remember.... DTG ink systems require daily maintenance.
