Default Polyprint Shortee

What do you guys think about the new Polyprint Shortee? It's a Epson Surecolor SC-P600 as far as I know. The max printing area is 32x45cm (A3+). Don't you guys think this is a bit too small? I know it will be enough for 95% of the jobs, but 32cm wide isn't that big.

I'm looking at getting the printer me self... At the moment I have the texjet plus. Even tho I'm screen printing 95% of our prints inside the A3+ size even on the texjet plus we always use the main table on only used the max table 10 times over 3 years.... the big plus for me is the print speed!! 30% faster.

You can achieve fast prints on both printers, and vibrant. Just depends on settings and how you pretreat, what kind of pretreat you use too

I really like your new videos:
Black tee: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnp5yqAl7ko 10.5 x 14 inch 720x720 in under 2 minutes
White tee: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEP3Zl0JVQM large image 1440x720 in 2 minutes
White tee: 720x720 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAyscfoAqDE 12.5 x 17.5 inch 720x720 in 70 seconds.

Print speed seems awesome!

Did you notice any print quality difference between the two printers?

Thank you. I will have more videos up as well. Everything is all in the technique but printer settings and knowing how to set them help out as well. The stock settings are fine and tweaking things is very easy

I would say that would be true as well. It looks like he is very well organized and has lots of useful information.

Hello...

Can anyone give me idea about texjet DTG printer life....
means how much one printer prints tshirts in his life.......
and what is the wash-ability status..... white tshirts print & Dark tshirts print

Texjet company saying wash-ability is good... & 80tshirts can print in one hour....

i am not understanding this is true or false.... because all DTG Manufacture cannot tell true.. what is the disadvantage of the printer..... because they are doing business....

Can anyone help this..... because i am searching from internet about this printer review online... but i am not getting the answer...

My Points are

1. Can this printer is useful for tshirts business ??
2. Can this printer prints more than 25000 pcs tshirts in his life ??
3. can tshirts print washable is good ??
4. what is the maintenance cost ??
5. What is the ink cost per Sq.in, if 90% print coverage ??
6. pre-treatment is easy to apply ??
7. what is the hidden disadvantage of this printer ??
8. after fusing the print from heat press, print colour change or not..??
9. White ink blockage status.??
10. how much printer prints in one hour.. light & Dark tshirts ??
11. How Much ink waste, when we apply power cleaning option ??
12. how much difference between print & computer viewing design...
13. How much Wastage tshirts percentage...

One of my india machine user told me that we can print minimum 50pcs same design..

but DTG printer print one design also.... means 50pcs all different designs...
why this machine user is afraid to print 50pcs all different design, can any one have this answer too...

Hello Anoop and sorry I didn't see this post until now.

Washability depends on the process you do and what kind of pretreatment you use. I use a mixture of DuPont and Image Armor to get the best washability. I have shirts that are still going after 70-80 washes.

Also it depends on the garment, ringspun always last longer.

Maintenance costs per day are around $0.50 cents (solution and swab)

If you are running the machine daily I would say about $2.00 worth of ink in between prints would be wasted due to the machine needing to be pressurized and to take ink out of the head.

White ink... I have customers with the same parts for 2 years, need to wet cap daily and if left the machine alone you will need to wet cap after 15 minutes.

Dampers will need to be replaced after 4 months and pump and cap assembly every 4-6 months.

The only time we've seen a wastage on shirts is when we pretreated lower than we should have and sometimes if user did not load properly and shirt came up by accident. This triggers the height sensors and gives the machine an error.

The good thing is that it can be corrected sometimes with the rip, you can tell it to print either CMYK or White only.

Light shirts per hour depend on settings, so does darks also depends on the size of the image.

Power cleaning, its about $15 in ink but not really a necessity unless you have ran the printer without ink or left it sitting for a long period of time.

You can print as much as you want but at a certain point you have to ask yourself if screen print is more cost effective.

Polyprint is bridging the gap between DTG and Screen print. I will see for the first time how it will work at the ISS in January. I'm really excited. Will film everything and show the new printers.

Color changing after the press is slight but we have some new products we are launching this year.

Its going to be a great year. Just wait....

Hi,
Thanks for the information! Really useful!
I have a Brother DTG 361, I find that printing with white is very expensive. I recently started investigating the Polyprint DTG and I am thinking of changing my printer.
Does anyone have experience with this printers?
Can anyone give a comparison between both?
What should I do!

Thanks!

Yes, your ink cost will be much higher with the Brother and machine cost. I've had the same print head in my shorTee almost a year, I flushed the system a few times with solution to clean the cartridges and dampers and head. As a dealer I don't print much so its expected. I tell customers to flush if we look at their parts and they are dirty and clean them up. This can happen with any machine. We know that because the buyers use my cleaning solution

it also depends on the garment too, each garment may need more ink laid down. 100% cotton requires less ink for a vibrant white than blended garments

The key is to wet cap and print, the more you print the less trouble you'll have with white ink. The shorTee is a workhorse. It all is on preference too, the echo is fast at different print modes but the shorTee is faster because the head travel time is less.

I have people that purchased the echo for fine art big prints and the shorTee to satisfy smaller print areas or children's clothing.

Print you do get slightly different results in each print mode so don't think the printers will print exact. No 2 printers that are different models print the same. Will be close but not the same
