Hi Steve,

If you are using the 1132 build, then either try the 'A' button (for auto mask creation) or you can try "playing" with the offset inside the white mask creation (last window - put minus in front of the number if you want the white to be smaller).

Already tried these:
The Automask gives the same result as manual mask.
Mask offset of -2 still has significant white edge, an offset of -3 ruins most of my images, and makes small text invisible.

Hi Steve. Please try with photoshop (and the polyprint actions) to create the white spot channel which then you can select from the RIP via right-click and spot colors. See, if this way you have any change.

I don't have full version of Photoshop, only Photoshop Elements and so I no longer have the Polyprint actions available.

AmayaUK have been brilliant and got me printing again but it would appear that RIP 7 doesn't seem to be working without Photoshop. The white mask appears to be offset with V7, which leaves a dark edge on one side (no white below the colour), and white edge on opposite side.

I updated my RIP to the 1132 build (later I was working on 1131). This time there wasn't any problem during the installation, but there are still some (not big) problems with working on the RIP:

1) When I set an image for dark t-shirt and then set a mask for it, everything is ok. But when I delete this image and set another, when I try to set a mask I've got a message "Runtime Error

C:/Program Files(x86)/TexJetRip/bin/TexJetRip.exe

abnormal program termination"

this happens when I do the right mouse click on second image

2) Rotating images seems to not work properly. When I rotate an image for 180 degrees in RIP it prints strange things so I have to rotate it in Photoshop. I attach an image, as you can see the bottom of the image is quite ok but if you look closely you can see that colors don't match white mask properly (for example the green leaves at the right). The top of image is a black rectangle which is the missing part of the printing (which should be situated at the bottom).

When I load an image which is rotated in a file, everything is ok.

What do you mean by connecting printer through "Windows printer" option (not auto)? Maybe that is the case?

---EDIT---

I had to abandon v7 as it didn't work at all - terrible results! Back using v6 and had to get Photoshop so I can use the actions.
I'll wait until I see lots of good reviews here before I try v7.x.
I had major mask offset issues that I couldn't eliminate bit also made images unprintable.

Have you tried to print something with 'photoshoped' file on RIP 7?

Yes. Amaya were on site at the time. Noticeable difference in quality. I had build 1132 of v7.

Honestly I also prefer the 6 version... I would go for it but my second TexJet have a new system of tables (all of them seems to be exact as the old ones, but universal table is quite shorter and it is different situated) so I can't use RIP 6 with it. Or I can but then I have to calculate how to set a print if I want it on demand place.

Maybe I can load new tables to RIP 6?

Hello all
Another new one! I now have a pink/purple bias on all prints now! The white mask is ok but all other colours are affected by this light grey is pink, lime green looks dirty, blues come out purple.
Grateful for all suggestions as I have some orders I need to get out this week!

Thanks

Edit:
I have already tried a power clean, carefully wiped the encoder strip (which is new anyway), and tried to print files that printed perfectly last week! And yes, I am using the PS actions.
Please help me save my printer from being dumped in the nearest river!

Hi Steve,

From what you are saying, you may just be facing a height issue; meaning that the t-shirt needs to be closer to the head. Try performing an auto-height adjustment again making sure that t-shirt is completely flat and even. Can you upload a photo of these lines? maybe i could help you more.

Hi Kostas
I doubt it's a height issue: the print head was adjusted 2 weeks ago and has been fine. I also use auto EVERY time I send in a shirt. I have tried printing far away from the print head to see what happens and I get a blurring effect ( not pink). My prints a very sharp, just pink /purple.
Also, it's not lines, it's the whole print, almost as if there is a pink mask over the whole print.

How can I print only white images in RIP 7? I mean how to prepare a proper file if I want to use a "dark t-shirt - white ink" option. In RIP 6 i had to prepare a black elements for white print. More black = more white on the print. White areas were non-printed.

I tried to do this with RIP 7 and it says that mask for white print is missed. The same when I load a file with white and transparency. I don't trust "automatic mask generation" options so I prefer to prepare my files in PS.

Now I do "only whites" on my first TexJet with RIP 6.

How can I solve this?
