Default Error 0003/no enc pulses

Hi,
When I try to start up my Tex Jet an error 0003 shows up + information "no enc pulses" is displayed. It seems that there's no information on pliprint website about such a problem (at least I could'nt find it).
Has anyone experienced such a problem?
Greetings
Kasia

Hi

Most likely, the encoder disk at the back side of the printer (and under the small metal cover) is dirty and cannot be read properly by the sensor. Just use a cloth in isopropyl alcohol and clean this disk from both sides (by moving slowly the table in-out). Do a self test by pressing and holding the eject button before powering up the printer. It should say 'self test ok'. If not, then please contact your local Polyprint distributor for more details.

Hi Cyril,

The encoder block is situated at the far back side of the printer, under a small metal cover (you need to remove the black external big metal cover first). But, I highly suggest you contact the technical support of your distributor because it's something that could have a number of causes to check and a trained technician to do that.

Hi Kostas, hi everybody.

I have this error again and again. When I clean the encoder disk and the optical reader everything is fine for about 20-30 prints. Then it comes again.

I did a self-test and it's OK. But the problem still occurs.

What can I do?

I don't want to call the technician

Hi zerg71,

If the encoder disk/sensor is recovered after just cleaning it, then I don't think that there is much else you can do, other than making sure that the encoder metal cover always stays on after the cleaning. It sounds like there is A LOT of dust in the room. Just make sure that nothing else from the outside affects the back of the printer (don't pre-treat near the printer and if possible don't have the heat press near either; a lot of fibers and dust come off the fabrics).

Thakns for such a fast reply

Yeah, there is a HELL of a dust in the room. I have two heat presses in distance of 2 m from the printers (opposite to them). The pretreat table is also quite near but there is no other option (the room is about 8x4 m and I have there a lot of other equipment: printers, cutter, paper etc). There is also no air conditioning excluding windows

I cleaned carefully the whole inside of the printer and situation seems to be better. So far no error.

Thanks

Hello.

Any tips when self-test is not ok?

I have this error again and when I cleaned everything I tried to do a self-test. The table slowly comes out and then the error occurs in the moment when the whole table is hidden inside (almost at the end of the rail). Same thing happen when I try to power on printer normally, the error occurs when the whole table is inside.

This sounds like the platen carriage has a movement difficulty towards the IN side. Try cleaning the rails with WD40; that should do it I think.

I just had this error when the table moved back, as it was about to do a second layer of white on a jeans jacket.
After many restarts, I discovered -while looking in the back for the aforementioned sensor- one of the sleeves had dropped off the back and was apparently blocking the way back.
When I had put it back on the table, all was fine.

Just trying to add info.
